Rush FAQs

How does Rush work at USC?

Rush is another name for recruitment in the Greek community. IFC conducts rush during the first month of classes in the Fall and in the Spring.

Rush consists of a week's worth of events and activities planned by our brothers so that prospective members can learn about our house and meet us. At the end of Rush, Delta Tau Delta offers bids (invitations to join our house) to a select group of men that we want to join our brotherhood.

Are you still affiliated with USC?

Delta Tau Delta are one of only two chapters who are dually affiliated with both the university through USC IFC and the other fraternities on the row through UPIFC. We are proud to be a USC fraternity.

Do I need to do anything prior to arriving at the first event?

Any man who is interested in rushing Delta Tau Delta is required to register with the University Park Interfraternity Council at https://www.universityparkifc.com/

Is there anything I can do to be more likely to receive a bid from Delta Tau Delta?

Be yourself and attend events. Our brothers want to meet the real you, and it will also help you to feel if Delta Tau Delta is the right “fit” for you. The more events you attend, the more brothers you will meet, which will only help your chances of getting a bid.

What is Blue Chip dinner?

Blue Chip is an invitation-only dinner held in Los Angeles. Prospective members join our brothers at this formal event, which is the final time for our brothers to get to know prospective members before we decide who to give bids to.

What is secondary rush?

Secondary rush is a chance for our brothers to meet prospective members who we may not have met during rush week that did not receive a bid from their top choice or go through formal rush.
